Each racing day, TrackExperts.com makes available Steve Fierro's Raceday USA Betting Line, a fair-odds betting line for our "value oriented" players. What is the difference between a betting line and the program morning line? And, why is using a betting line superior?
The difference between the two is that the program morning line is a quesstimate by a racetrack employee who is trying to predict how the public will wager in a certain race and at what odds each horse will go off at. The program odds have nothing to do with a horse’s fair odds against today’s competition.
Raceday USA Betting Line assesses each horses probability of winning today’s heat and then assigns his/her “True Odds” based on that probability. With the RACEDAY USA BETTING LINE you can now play the races armed with information that not many at the track have at their disposal.
How to use the Betting Line?
It’s simple. The horses that have been given an odds line are the top contenders for that race. As post time approaches, compare the Raceday USA Betting Line fair-odds with the actual odds of the contenders. The ones that are going off above their Betting Line (Fair Odds) are potential plays and true overlays. Here are a couple other things to keep in mind when using the Betting Line. If there is only one overlay in the race, he’s worth a play. If there are two overlays in the race and they are both over 8/1, play them both. If not, play the overlay ranked the highest among the contenders. And, finally, regarding legitimate favorites: When the Raceday USA Betting Line lists a contender at odds of 3/2 or less and that horse is going off at those odds or less, we recommend a pass on that race. Usually the other contenders are false overlays due to the heavy betting action our legitimate favorite is getting.
